I have a young patron (12) who came in wanting audiobooks. He felt that
what we had in the Children's Department was too young for him. He enjoys
Tom Clancy, Slam!, Gary Paulsen (so-so), the t.v. show JAG, and the new
Romeo and Juliet movie. He left with a Stephen Coonts, and I told him I
would try to come up with some other titles, as well.

Any suitable suggested titles?

Jennifer,
I think we had a thread on a similar topic on the list a while back, but I
don't know if the compiled booklist ever was posted. Anyway, some other
authors to try are Alistair MacLean, Douglas Reeman, Dale Brown, Larry Bond,
and Harold Coyle. All write adventure novels with a military bent and little
sexual content. The last three are more techno-thriller, modern military in
focus (except for three books Coyle wrote on Civil War or French and Indian
War titles); the first two are older authors with at least some WWII settings.

What about Dale Brown, Stephen King's The Green Mile,Joseph Finder's High
Crime might also be appropriate.
