BITTERSWEET COUNTRY by Elaine Long was published in 1991 and is about
a college student who marries a vetinarian to escape her family's
expectations. They move to an isolated sheep ranch in Montana and
have a child who dies (but not in a rain barrel). Could this be it?

Can anyone help me remember the title of a book matching the following
description? I checked it out from Ann Arbor Public Library in 1991
and it couldn't have been more than 5 to 10 years old. It was about a
young woman who worked as a vet assistant and meets a farmer whom she
marries and moves away with to escape something (cannot remember). I
am thinking that the couple has a child who drowns in a barrel of
rainwater. The cover as I remember it had a picture of a mountain on
it and I keep thinking that the title has the words blue and mountain
in it, but I have searched for this title in several places with no
success. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks.
