The library humor/animal thread reminded me of a funny instance a few years
back. I came into work late one day to find that my staff had found a rat in
the department. As I was not here to handle the situation, a staff member
carefully boxed up the rat and placed it in the In-box in the Library
Administration office. I guess they figured Administration could handle ANY
situation--the rat was still in the In basket when I arrived at work a few
hours later.
On another note, a staff member once had an interesting encounter with a
patron when I was a Circulation Supervisor many years ago. A patron came to
the desk to check out her books. She had recently had abdominal surgery and
asked if my assistant would like to see her scar. Before the "lucky" staff
member could respond, the patron lifted up her blouse for a public viewing.
Life is never dull in libraries!!!
