A discussion on Steinbeck's lament on the loss of regional differences at
that time contrasted with today's emphasis on multiculturism; his reaction
to the power of the desert landscape; identifying 'American' traits he
thought he discerned--all would be productive.
As I recall, I did get an A on that paper.

I wrote a lengthy research paper on this book my freshman year in college
(too long ago to be comfortable stating the date) and it has stayed with me
lo, these many years.
A discussion on Steinbeck's lament on the loss of regional differences at
that time contrasted with today's emphasis on multiculturism; his reaction
to the power of the desert landscape; identifying 'American' traits he
thought he discerned--all would be productive.
As I recall, I did get an A on that paper.
