We have a patron who wishes to locate a young adult novel he read last
year. The story is about a teen runaway, possibly with the name Elise,
Elisa or Alicia. She ends up in a great deal of trouble including
involvement with drugs. The book is written in a diary format. The book
was possibly published in the 1990s.

Is he thinking of Go Ask Alice? It was written in the 70's and is
something of a classic -- sort of an anti-drug screed written as if it is
the diary of a young girl who gets involved with drugs and ends up a
suicide.
