Native American is in Siberia to rescue a scientist. He is captured &
during his escape, scalps his captor. He sends the scalp to the Russian
commandant, implying "you're next, commandant".
Patron read this book many years ago, and we need title so we can check
for sequel. Sound familiar to anyone?

That sounds like Louis L'Amour's Last of the Breed. As far as I know there
is not a sequel.

Hello,
The book I think you're looking for is called "Kolymsky Heights" by
Lionel Davidson. It's about a Native American with an amazing gift for
languages who is sent into Siberia to make contact with a high-ranking
scientist at a maximum- security research facility. **But I don't remember
him scalping anyone!**
Anyway, "Kolymsky Heights" is a good read for those who enjoy
well-wrought thrillers.
