I have a patron who has read everything by Roy Lewis, Roy Hart, M.C. Beaton,
and Peter Robinson. Can anyone help me out with a few choice author
recommendations for this reader? I prefer not to receive website referrals

If your patron likes the British police procedural aspect, I highly
recommend Elizabeth George and Deb Crombie. Both write mysteries involving
different aspects of British police investigations. Also, the early Ruth
Rendell books featuring Inspector Wexford. Her more recent works have tended
much more toward psychology than police work (very well written, just not a
police procedural). I also really like Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch books
which are set in Los Angeles. I also really liked Medora Sale and Susan
Kelly's books featuring Alison Hope and Nick Trevellyan. Medora Sale's
series features a Toronto policeman and his significant other. Susan Kelly
has written several books, but the ones I mentioned all have the word "Hope"
in the title. Nick Trevellyan is an English policeman.
