More specifically, I absolutely hated Accordion Crimes, by E. Annie Proulx (the acclaimed author of The Shipping News) It was
so depressing that I think it should have been one of the Oprah books, (which I think they pick by finding the most
heart-wrenching, pathetic story out there, not by literary merit) I hate to not finish a book, but I have so many on my "to
read" list, that I can't afford to waste my valuable free time.

I admit I didn't like Cold Mountain or Celestine Prophecy, but what is up
with Danielle Steel. I keep trying a new one from time to time and just
can't figure out what the hub-bub is about.
