Jan Burke - BONES
Alice Blanchard - DARKNESS PEERING
Both of these are very suspenseful mysteries.
Lisa Gardner - OTHER DAUGHTER - Good suspense novel.
Orson Scott Card - ENCHANTMENT - I was reluctant to read this as I
usually don't read fantasy, but this retelling of Sleeping Beauty had
me spellbound.
Jane Heller - SIS BOOM BAH - Heller always does a fun job and this
hilarious novel is a fun read.
Anita Shreve - FORTUNE'S ROCKS - There may be some who don't agree
with me on this one, but I really liked it and did have a hard time
putting it down.
Joseph Karon - PRODIGAL SPY - I haven't read this but I've heard from
two colleagues that this is excellent and very hard to put down.
Right now I'm reading Michael Connelly's VOID MOON and this morning I
just wanted to stay home and finish it!
I've got many more older titles if you need to round out the list.

Hi all;
I'm trying to make a booklist called Too Good To Put Down. I would
love
your input on this. I am hoping for newer adult fiction titles, not
nonfiction or young adult fiction. (Even though I know there are
plenty of
page-turners in those categories.) If you can't resist, older titles
would
be fine as well. Thanks in advance, and I'll post the list once it's
compiled.
Happy New Year!

Harlan Coben's Darkest Fear is to be published in June, not March. That
gives y'all an extra 3 months to whip yourselves into a frenzy of
well-deserved anticipation.

My idea of books too good to put down are page-turners usually thrillers,
fast-paced, plot driven books e.g.
VERTICAL RUN by Joseph Garber
NATHAN'S RUN by John Gilstrap
ALONG CAME A SPIDER by James Patterson
or those wonderful thick family sagas you immerse yourself in for as long
as you can and don't want to end e.g.
HAWAII by James Michener
WAR AND REMEMBRANCE by Herman Wouk.
Although I liked the book very much and found it as a great Book Discussion
title, I would never consider ANGLE OF REPOSE by Stegner as a page-turner.
What I'm trying to say is, that before we include all the titles we have
mentioned and offer them to our patrons, we have to discern what THEY may
mean by "Page-Turner." This was aptly shown in our listings of books we
hated. Most of those are titles that others love. So gather the titles,
but be careful in your recommendations.
