Could anybody tell me the title of the Sharon McCone mystery by
Marcia Muller in which McCone first meets Hy Ripinsky?

nb Suffolk County's 516 prefix was supposed to have changed to
631 on 11/1/99 but when it actually goes into effect is still a
mystery.

I believe the first one with Hy is "The Broken Promise Land" published in
1996. If not, then it is "A Wild and Lonely Place," published in 1995. I am
sitting in a different building from where the books are located, so I
cannot double-check which specific one it is.

Looks like they first met in Where Echoes Live, published in 1991.
