I just read these two books on the recommendations from this list and loved
them. In an interesting juxtaposition, the next book I read was Michael
Crichton's new book , Timeline, set in roughly the same time and place,
though nowhere near as "plaquey". The experience sent me back to the
stacks to check out and reread Barbara Tuchman's A Distant Mirror a
nonfiction bestseller back in my early days in readers advisory, and Connie
Willis' Doomsday book, another all time favorite.
A nice small group of books tied together by a common time and place and
the spectre of the plaque. Anything else you can add to this list?

>One to add that hasn't been mentioned yet:
>Burning Road by Ann Benson
> The sequel to The Plaque Tales, this book also has chapters that
alternate between the 1300s and the year 2007. Excellent characters and
great storylines in both centurys. I believe she's planning a third book as
well.
