Ignatius O'Reilly would be so sad to know you didn't like Confederacy.
Actually, after John Kennedy Toole died his mama tried and tried to get it
published. Walker Percy, then on the LSU Press Advisory Board, read it
and recommended the Press pick it up. I've had several students dress
up like Ignatius for library school parties. I lived in Louisiana ten years.
The New Orleans Toole describes is nearly gone. Maison Blanche where
Ignatius waited for the bus...well, guess you don't want to hear all this
about a book not too many like.
My biggest problem is when I don't like a book I have to finish it but I
slow down and then have to wait until I can slog through to get on...can't
get over a feeling I MUST finish each one. Have to realize no one is
looking.
I cannot read Robert Ludlums anymore tho the first few were
interesting.
