Here's one I know you'll be able to answer:
A patron read a book years ago about a fictional patient during the war
with no arms, no legs, and no face. He was fed through a tube in his
stomach. He was able to communicate via morse code tapped out on the wall
with his head. The title may include the word "gun". Patron believes this
may be a classic, but I've drawn a blank. Hope you can help!

I think this might be Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo. I remember reading it in high school - it was an incredibly powerful book.

Try Dalton Trumbo's Johnny Got His Gun. The plot is what you're describing.
