Hello all:

One of my coworkers is looking for fiction with a religious bent.
However, she has read widely in Christian, Catholic, and Jewish fiction.
What she would like to read next are authors focusing on other religions,
such as Buddhism or Islam. Does anybody know any current (1995 to present)
writers who would be interesting for her?

Thank you for any help. I'm in a medical library, so my resources
for helping her out are limited.

"The Holy Man" by Susan Trott
books by Mark Salzman -- maybe "The Laughing Sutra", although it is earlier
than '95

A new thriller (Sept) called The Skull Mantra by Eliot Pattison involves
(maybe) a Buddhist demon. It uses as Buddhism, Tibet, Western contact, and the
Chinese government as plot points. I thought this was a interesting book - it
got starred reviews from Booklist, PW and Kirkus.
