This morning I had a patron ask me if I knew about a book about a cat who
traveled on the shoulders of his owner on airplanes and buses. The cat was
amazingly smart and was Scottish. The woman also remembered that the cat
had
fold-over ears. She thinks that the author of this book originally came
from
California. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

People magazine had a touching story with photo in their 5-31-99 issue, p.
77.
Apropos of very little, Gethers is really good friends with David Handler,
author of the Stuart Hoag mystery series, starring Lulu the basset hound
with breath bad enough to peel paint, owing to her penchant for fishy cat
food.
Gethers and Handler also wrote a trhiller under the pseudonym Russell
Andrews: title of the book is Gideon.
They probably should stick to writing from the animals' points of view.
