Not precisely what you're asking, but "Thousand Cranes" by Yasunari
Kawabata (1968 Nobel Prize winner) -- the dramatic events of this story
are set against the rites & symbols of the tea ceremony.

Subject: Teahouses in fiction and nonfiction
A patron is interested in literature or travelogues that include any
references to a teahouse, especially central Asian and Middle Eastern
teahouses. Does anyone know of an online concordance(r) that might be of
assistance?
Thank you for your help.
