Actually, the title of this portion of Jubilate Agno by Kit Smart is
FOR I WILL CONSIDER MY CAT JEOFFRY. A very appealing picture book was
published of this in 1984 by Atheneum, illustrated by Emily Arnold McCully
and portions of it are included in several anthologies including STEP
LIGHTLY: POEMS FOR THE JOURNEY, edited by Nancy Willard.
Kit Smart worked for John Newberry and went mad, although the two facts are
not necessarily connected. He was imprisoned in a madhouse and allowed
writing materials and the company of his cat.
