A few that come to mind ( these are women arrested for murder with court
room scenes) "The Sins of the Wolf" by Anne Perry and "Mistaken Identity"
by Lisa Scottoline and "Map of the World" by Jane Hamilton.

What about *Midwives* by Chris Bohjalian where a midwife is on trial because of an emergency, (fatal) caesarian that she performs on an apparently dead woman. Excellent book, by the way! (I read it way before it became an Oprah selection, too!)
