Subject: Hands & feet in literature
I am looking for some suggestions of fiction in which characters are
described through the strength of their hands or feet. Examples:
Louise Bogan and Virginia Woolf both describe women by their hands in
their memoirs. James Michener in HAWAII talks about the Chinese women
who refused to bind their feet.
Feel free to e-mail me directly.

Tom Wolfe's "A Man in Full" uses a lot of hand and forearm imagery to
symbolize the characters' strength.
