Hello Everyone,

Last night a patron was looking for a book he started to read a few years ago,
but never finished, and now he wants to read it again. He has no idea when it
was published or who the author is, but he remembers what the cover looked like
(of course!) and a lot of the plotline.

The cover has a picture of a Jeep with its door open in the background and a
rifle in the foreground.

The story is about a couple friends who go Bighorn sheep hunting, possibly in
Arizona. They accidently kill someone, mistaking him for a Bighorn sheep, and
have to decide what to with the body, etc. The patron thinks the title was
something like "Death in the Desert" or at least has the word "death" and/or
"desert" in the title.

I found a few other books with the title "Death in the Desert," but none of them
have this plotline.

I hope someone out there is familiar with this book--My patron will be very
happy!

Is it Deathwatch by Robb White? On the front cover is a jeep with a rifle
on the sun-baked earth. It says, "In the desert without clothes, food or
water and hunted by a madman with a .358 Magnum."

Unless I'm mistaken, the book is Deathwatch, by Robb White. It's
usually classed as YA.
