Patron is seeking titles of murder mysteries set in a corporate
environment. I was able to suggest "Edsel" by Loren Estleman, but we do
not own it. Are there others you mucher wiser and more talented reader
advisors can suggest.

>From cover:
On the 45th floor of the Nakamoto Tower in downtown LA--the new American
headquarters of the immense Japanse conglomerate--a grand opening
celebration is in full swing.
On the 46th floor, in an empty conference room, the dead body of a
beautiful young woman is discovered.
The investigation begins...and immediately becomes a headlong chase
through a twisting maze of industrial intrigue...a no-holds-barred
conflict in which control of a vital American technology is the fiercely
coveted prize--and the Japanese saying "business is war" takes on a
terrifying reality...
Hope this may help!

Stephen Olderr's MYSTERY INDEX was published in 1987 by the American
Library Association. He includes a subject index which lists mystery
novels under "Business," "Mail Order Business," "Retail Trade," and
"names of specific kinds of businesses"--for instance, "Publishers
and Publishing," "Factories," "Automobile Industry and Trade," etc.etc.
Since the book is published by ALA it should be fairly widely held,
but for starters here's his list for just plain "Business" (minus
those titles already suggested):
Cole, GDH & Margaret-- The man from the river
Collins, Michael -- Blue death
Davey, Jocelyn -- A treasury alarm
Eller, John -- Rage of heaven
Fuller, Roy -- Second curtain
Grafton, CW -- The rat began to gnaw the rope
Jeffries, Roderic -- An embarrassing death
Keeler, Harry Stephen -- Y. Cheung, business detective
Lewis, Roy -- Most cunning workmen
Linzee, David -- Belgravia
MacDonald, Philip -- The white crow
Maling, Arthur -- Go-between
ditto -- The Koberg link
Masur, Harold Q -- The broker
also -- Make a killing
McCormick, Jim -- Last seen alive
Paretsky, Sara -- Deadlock
Rhode, John -- Murder at Bratton Grange
Rice, Craig -- My kingdom for a herse
Sellers, Michael -- Cache on the rocks
Stout, Rex -- If death ever slept
also -- Too many women
Upton, Robert -- A golden fleecing
Williams, David -- Murder for treasure
I'm trying to figure out a way to throw in HUMAN RESOURCES by Floyd
Kemske, which has some of the trappings of a mystery/suspense novel
but, we quickly learn (very quickly, if we read the LC subject headings)
is actually horror/humor -- the new CEO is a vampire, and vampirism
rapidly becomes part of the corporate culture and the only way to
advance professionally. Kemske's book was published in 1995 by
Catbird Press; he has two earlier novels in the same business setting
for horrific black humor/allegory vein which I've not yet read:
LIFETIME EMPLOYMENT in 1992 and THE VIRTUAL BOSS in 1992, both also
from Catbird.
