A Theme from Macbeth

I had a request from a Grade Eleven student yesterday for fiction titles
that are similar to the loss of conscience theme in Macbeth. The
student emphasized that it was the transition from good to evil that the
teacher wanted students to highlight in other fiction. I would
appreciate any title suggestions. Most of the reader's advisory tools
have not been very helpful with this particular theme. One suggestion
from a librarian was "The Picture of Dorian Gray" but there must be
others.
Thanks,
Heather
