help! help! help!

patron remembers reading the following:

woman living in australia returns home to the phillipines for a visit.while
talking with her mother and aunts, she finds that her mother is her aunt.
one of her aunts is truly her biological mother. the story continues when
each of her aunts and her mother relate the true story surrounding her
birth. fiction or non-fiction??? year??? author??? title???

this is my first request for help. i am very optimistic!

I think your patron is looking for The Last Time I Saw Mother by Arlene J.
Chai, Fawcett, 1995. Here's a piece from the jacket flap, "Caridad is a wife
and mother, a native of the Philippines living in Sydney, Australia. Out of
the blue, Caridad's mother summons her home. Although she is not ill, Thelma
needs to talk to her daughter--to reveal a secret that has been weighing
heavily on her for years." The flap copy goes on to mention an aunt and a
mysterious past.

i'm very happy to say THANK YOU! to fiction_l members for their quick reply
to my quest for phillipino woman from australia visiting her family in the
phillipines and finding her mother is actually her aunt.

my patron picked up the book "The Last Tiome I Saw Mother" by Chai, A.
within a 24 hour period. her email reply "Thank you very much, your search
group is very impressive. I got the book last night and it is the right
one."
