Try Messiah by Boris Starling. It's new in paperback. It's a thriller that
involves a serial killer who believes that he is

Has anyone mentioned Andrei Codrescu's [removed]@h (yes, that [removed]@ is on purpose).
The Messiah is young and female, it takes place mostly in Jeruselem and New
Orleans (of course) and there's a devil and virtual reality encounters .....
and Codrescu's usual bent sense of humor
