We have a patron who is looking for a novel or short story about an old
lady who goes to heaven and is surrounded by all the animals (primarily
cats) she has had in her life. The patron believes that C.S. Lewis was
the author, but wasn't sure.Thank you

I vaguely remember this scene in the C.S. Lewis novel, "The Great Divorce."
It was about the people from Hell taking a bus trip to Heaven and the
narrator goes around watching his fellow passengers, and their stories. I
seem to remember in one scene there was a woman who had all the cats &
animals she'd helped on earth all around her, because (I think) her love
had touched and spilled into all living things so they remained with her.
A fascinating book.Joanna Hazelden
