I have a patron looking for a science fiction book, and she doesn't know
the title or the author, just a plot. She saids the book is a new book,
and first she thought the author was Douglas Adams, then she thought it
was someone else. Here is the plot:

A family is going to Las Vegas in a motor home for a vacation. They
pick up a hitchhiker -- a woman -- and find out from this woman that
the fabric of time has changed. The woman's job is to go to the end of
time and soothe the maker of time, who for some reason is upset. In
this book the fabrics of time are interwoven and strange things keep
happening. The family keeps going to different realities - in one
reality they go where nobody can tell a lie. They go through many
different time lines and zones and travel eventually to the end of
time. If anyone knows which book the patron is referring to, please let
me know. Thanks so much.
