There's some new age stuff about medicine and healing. The main character
is a healer and the person she falls in love with was in prison in the
South for a very long time.
The story talks about how a small group of people can affect and change the
lives of many people.

<Patron read a book a few years ago. She believes it's from the late <1980's
<early 90's. It's written by a woman, set in the future in <California,
<mostly San Francisco after some kind of war. Northern and Southern
<California are fighting against each other for control of the water <and the
<land.
