Hi! I'd like to pick your collective brains on a patron request: A
patron would like to know the title of a novel written in the past
10 years, about a Japanese POW during WW II, who escapes and becomes
animal-like. It was written by a major author, and made into a movie.
Fiction Cat was searched, also Novelist. Many thanks in advance.

It sounds somewhat like AMOK by George Fox which is about
a huge Japanese soldier who continues to kill people in
the Philippine jungles long after WW II. It was a good
thriller; trouble is, it's from 1978--I don't know about
a movie adaptation.
