To all;
I have a patron who needs a book title:

Written within the last 10 years.
Not The Scarlet City.
An artist is disguised as a gypsy (either Michelangelo or Leonardo da
Vinci)trying to transport art so it won't be stolen in the war.
Italian city states were at war with each other.
Has a young girl in it.

Does anyone have an idea of the title.

George Herman has written a series of books about Leonardo da Vinci and Renaissance Italy. A Comedy of Murders and The Tears of the Madonna are in our collection here, and I don't think the scene your patron describes is in either of those books. Carnival of saints is not in our collection, but the scene may be in that title. We classified the two we own as mysteries. The other important character in these books is Niccolo, a young dwarf - maybe if you probe, your patron will remember whether or not there was a dwarf in the book s/he is trying to find.
