I have another request from my patron to find a forgotten title. This
book, she read about a year ago. It is by an American author who lives
and works as a translator in China. The book is also about an American
translator living in China. The translator is a woman whose father is a
U.S. Senator. She is hired to go on an expedition to find a lost
civilization in the Chinese desert, possibly Mongolia. She falls in
love with one of the Chinese scientists on the expedition. Patron
remembers one of the main themes of the book to be about language.
Any help identifying the title and author is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
